The Legendary Beatles Song Paul McCartney Performed At Taylor Swift’s Wedding Has Finally Been Revealed
Sir Paul McCartney reportedly gave Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reception an unforgettable soundtrack, serenading the newlyweds with the Beatles’ 1963 classic “I Want to Hold Your Hand” during Friday night’s celebration at Madison Square Garden.
According to a source who spoke with People, the surprise performance came shortly after the ceremony.
“After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom Andrea invited everyone into the reception room where the stage was set up,” the insider revealed.
McCartney wasn’t the only music legend to take the stage. Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks also reportedly performed during the star-studded reception, which carried on well into the early hours of Saturday morning.
Ahead of the wedding, Page Six had exclusively reported that Tim McGraw and the members of The Knicks were expected to provide entertainment for the couple’s A-list guest list.
Representatives for both McCartney and Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment regarding the reported performance.
McCartney and Swift have shared a longtime friendship, even appearing together on the cover of Rolling Stone several years ago.
For their wedding celebration, Swift and Kelce—both 36—reportedly gathered around 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden, filling the iconic venue with a mix of Hollywood stars, music legends, sports figures, close friends, and family members.
The festivities began the night before with a much smaller rehearsal dinner at the same venue. Around 100 of the couple’s closest loved ones attended, including Selena Gomez, sports broadcaster Erin Andrews, Kelce’s longtime friend Ross Travis, and Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine.
As Friday night’s celebration came to a close, Madison Square Garden itself confirmed the milestone. Digital displays wrapped around the arena lit up with the message “JUST&T MARRIED,” officially announcing that one of entertainment’s biggest power couples had tied the knot.
The celebration reached beyond the walls of Madison Square Garden.
As the festivities unfolded, the Empire State Building’s iconic spire glowed blue, serving as a symbolic “something blue” for the bride.
Additional details about the ceremony were later confirmed in a press release, which revealed that Swift and Kelce exchanged vows in custom Christian Dior Haute Couture. Comedian Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, while Swift chose her brother, Austin Swift, to serve as her “Man of Honor.” Kelce, meanwhile, named his brother Jason Kelce as his Best Man.
Following the lavish celebration, several attendees shared their reactions online. Among them was AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, who briefly posted a detailed, play-by-play account of the wedding on X before later deleting it, offering fans one of the rarest glimpses inside the tightly guarded event.
Before deleting the post, Aron shared what may be the most vivid description yet of the celebration inside Madison Square Garden.
According to him, the iconic arena had been “magically” transformed into “an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat,” creating a setting that felt worlds away from its usual sports and concert atmosphere.
He also described the couple’s vows as “long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families as one, and committing to their new mutual life together.”
Aron said the emotional exchange ended with a “sweep you off your feet kiss,” before guests moved into what he called an “exquisite” reception featuring “superb food and drink” along with “music, music, music.”
“I wish you were all could have been there with me, to witness real, pure, true joy,” he added.
