‘NCIS’: Should Tony & Ziva Return in Season 24? (POLL)

Cote De Pablo as Ziva David and Michael Weatherly as Tony Dinozzo — 'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' Season 1 Finale 'Full Circle'

After getting Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo back on our screens as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, we’ll be honest: We need to see more of them. But just because NCIS: Tony & Ziva was canceled doesn’t mean that had to be the last time we do. After all, NCIS, on which both of them were first seen in the franchise, continues, with Season 24 airing in the fall of 2026 on CBS.

Weatherly starred as Tony on the mothership from the series premiere (and before then, in the two backdoor pilot episodes of JAG) until his exit in Season 13. He then returned for a special cameo in Season 21’s “The Stories We Leave Behind,” the tribute to the late David McCallum and his character, Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard. De Pablo joined NCIS in its third season, then exited two episodes into Season 11. Her character was said to have been killed in Season 13, only for her to return in the Season 16 finale and reveal she was alive; she went on to appear in four episodes of Season 17.

Tony and Ziva’s reunion in Europe was seen in their Paramount+ spinoff via flashbacks. The first and only season of their show tracked their adventures across Europe after they were framed for crimes and ended with them having cleared their names and gotten back together. There wasn’t any crossover between the mothership and the spinoff while the latter was airing (though there were a couple of character mentions). And as NCIS executive producer Steven D. Binder told TV Insider in May 2025, while discussing the Season 22 finale, production dates made it difficult for his show to set up Tony & Ziva.

Now, however, without two productions to take into account for scheduling, and with Tony and Ziva back in the NCISverse, it does feel like the perfect time to get them both back on their original series — and together. That’s what was missing from Weatherly and de Pablo’s previous returns.
