Fox News’ Emily Compagno is leaving Outnumbered after landing new hosting role on network
Emily Compagno is leaving her position as a co-host of Outnumbered as she prepares to take on a major new role at Fox News.
Compagno has been named a permanent co-host of The Five and will officially begin her new position on September 8.
The move gives her an official place alongside longtime hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue appearing as rotating hosts.
Compagno has already worked with members of The Five throughout her time at Fox News, but her new appointment makes her a regular part of the program.
Compagno celebrates her new position
Compagno described the promotion as an honor and said she had admired the team for years.
“I couldn’t be more honored to join The Five, a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years,” she said

She also called the opportunity to have an official place on the program an “incredible privilege,” describing The Five as what she believes is the most entertaining show on television.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started,” Compagno added.
Her move marks a significant new chapter after five years as a co-host of Outnumbered.
Compagno joined Fox News in 2018 before becoming part of the Outnumbered team in 2021. During her time at the network, she has also appeared across other Fox News programming.
Fox News welcomes Compagno to The Five
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott praised Compagno’s work while announcing her addition to the program.
“Emily is a highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across FOX News Media,” Scott said, adding that the network was pleased to officially welcome her to The Five.
Scott also highlighted the program’s longevity and continued popularity, describing it as a “powerhouse” that remains appointment viewing for millions of Americans 15 years after its launch.
Compagno’s arrival does not change the roles of the show’s established co-hosts. Instead, it gives her a permanent position at the table after years of working with the team.
Outnumbered prepares for another change
Compagno’s promotion means she will step away from Outnumbered, where she has served alongside Harris Faulkner and Kayleigh McEnany.
A rotating group of Fox News personalities will temporarily fill Compagno’s seat following her departure.
The network has said that a permanent replacement on Outnumbered will be announced, but no new co-host has yet been named.
The change leaves the daytime program preparing for a new addition while Compagno moves into one of the network’s most visible hosting positions.
Outside her television work, Compagno is the author of the 2024 New York Times bestseller Under His Wings.
Viewers respond to the announcement
The news prompted messages of congratulations for Compagno on social media.
One supporter predicted that she would “ROCK the house,” while another described her happiness as honest and genuine. Others called the promotion well deserved and celebrated her addition to the program.
Compagno will now leave the show she has co-hosted since 2021 and officially take her seat on The Five beginning September 8.
