HEALTH UPDATE Karoline Leavitt announces results of Trump’s MRI just months after president sparked concern with bruising on hands
THE White House has released Donald Trump’s MRI results after days of pressure for an update on the president’s health.
Trump, 79, had promised the release on board Air Force One on Sunday after an online spat with Minnesota Gov Tim Walz, in which the former vice presidential candidate dared the president to make the scan results public.
It also came just months after the White House confirmed Trump had been diagnosed with a chronic and harmless vein condition after bruising was seen on his hands, sparking concern.
Rumors around the president’s health escalated after he was pictured with concealer covering the bruises at several public events.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday that the most recent MRI done on his cardiovascular and abdominal systems was standard practice.
“This level of detailed assessment is standard for an executive physical at President Trump’s age and confirms that he remains in excellent overall health,” Leavitt said during a press conference.
Leavitt said the purpose of the imaging is preventative to ensure that he remains in the best overall health.
“President Trump’s cardiovascular is perfectly normal,” the memo reported.
The memo detailed various areas of Trump’s cardiovascular system that were examined during the MRI.
“Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health.”
Barabella also notes that the abdominal imaging is perfectly normal.
“Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns.”
The memo confirmed that the level of assessment is typical for a man of Trump’s age and position.
SUSPICIOUS BRUISING
Back in February, Americans first began speculating about the president’s health after catching glimpses of bruises covered by concealer on Trump’s hand.
A large bruise was visible on the president’s right hand during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
At the time, Leavitt said the bruising was due to him shaking hands.
