Mark Harmon Is Real-Life Hero Who Rescued 2 Teens

Mark Harmon is an amazing crime fighter and fitness enthusiast who has also saved two teenage boys from a burning car. He is 72 years old and still takes care to exercise every day.

Mark Harmon is a long-standing character on the investigative drama “NCIS“. His heroic role as Naval Criminal Investigative Service Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs has kept fans glued to the show for almost two decades.

After keeping his character alive for nearly two decades, Harmon has spoken out about his indefinite departure from “NCIS.”

The actor said he’s always drawn to his NCIS character because he enjoys the challenge of keeping it fresh.

Harmon is 72 years old now, but it looks like Gibbs’ character may still return. The actor hinted at starting a new chapter in his career, but assured fans that he hasn’t retired and his character isn’t dead yet.

Harmon’s last “NCIS” appearance ends telling his colleagues that he will stay in Alaska and not return to his investigative work. Gibbs also specified how long his stay in Alaska would be.

Executive producer and showrunner Steven D. Binder also reassured longtime fans of the show that everything is going to be okay.

Binder said he was leaving the door open for the character’s return. He added

“So, as far as Gibbs’ future is concerned, as longtime fans of the show over the years may have noticed… never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”

Harmon may be well-known for his criminal investigative roles, but he’s also been involved in a number of other films and TV shows.

Mark Harmon Is a Hero on and off the Screen

It turns out Harmon isn’t just a talented actor; he’s also a real-life hero. The actor rescued two teenage boys who crashed their car near his home in Brentwood.

The 16-year-old boys were driving at around 7:15 p.m when they missed a turn and crashed their car into a tree. The vehicle rolled over and caught on fire.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said that Harmon reacted quickly, smashed the windows with a sledgehammer, and pulled the boys out.

Humphrey said that one of the boys suffered a severe burn on his body, but he was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center. The other teenager had minor injuries, but was also taken for medical care at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center.

Harmon might be 72 years old, but his strength and fitness are essential to him. The actor used to be the quarterback of the UCLA football team, so his training is a part of his everyday life.

This health milestone underscores the importance of staying healthy andfit, and his dedication to staying that way is another reason fans admire him so much.

Harmon doesn’t have the stamina of an 18-year-old, so his go-to exercise is Pilates. The actor said it was challenging, but that’s what he likes about it. He said:

“I used to do 60 to 70-mile weeks every week. I wish I had some of that back now. [Pilates] is all about controlling the machine, and that’s twice as hard.
