3. In Switzerland it is forbidden to have a single goldfish or parakeet.

In Switzerland it is illegal to keep a parakeet, a canary or a guinea pig, or a goldfish in a cage in its corresponding fish tank. The reason? They must have their partner, because these animals are social and need company. If they want to have cats and dogs, they must be social with others. It is also forbidden to have a single sheep.

In September 1783, the first manned hot air balloon was launched. Who were the lucky passengers? A sheep, a duck and a rooster. The balloon remained in the air for about 15 minutes before crashing to the ground.

In 1879 in Belgium, 37 cats were hired to deliver the mail . Only one cat delivered the mail in less than 5 hours and the others until the next day. So they were fired for being undisciplined.

Henry W. Seely invented the electric iron, it was introduced to the public on June 6, 1882. However, his invention was nicknamed “the fool’s invention”.

Why? At this time the houses had no electricity and there was no adjustable thermostat to prevent clothes from burning. Such an invention could not work. But times have changed and we thank Henry for his input.
