Team USA figure skating sensation Alysa Liu was one of the breakout stars at the 2026 Winter Olympics. At the end of the two weeks of competition at the Milan Cortina Games, Liu walked away as a two-time Olympic champion.
Liu won gold medals in the team and women’s singles tournaments, becoming the first American woman to win an individual gold medal in figure skating since Sarah Hughes at the 2022 Salt Lake City Games.
Since becoming one of the top Team USA stars to emerge from the Olympics, Liu has been making the rounds in the media to share her story and open up about the experience.
During a sitdown with Self Magazine on Instagram, Liu opened up about her “Olympic crush,” and the answer had everyone turning their heads. If Liu had to pick someone to crush on, it’d be none other than Team USA gymnast and fellow Olympic champion Suni Lee.
“I think my Olympic crush is probably Suni Lee,” Liu revealed. “She’s so pretty and very stylized. You know what I’m saying? I like that, yeah. Oh my gosh, the one and only Hilary Knight. There’s no thinking outside the box on that one.
“I have many Olympic crushes. Lauren Hernandez. I love that she’s openly queer and that she is completely herself, a little bit of a nerd, just like me.”
Does Alysa Liu have a significant other?
Since the Olympic stardom, Liu’s personal life has been thrown into the spotlight. There have been many questions about her dating life, but Liu has held those details close to the chest.
“I have so much love in my life already, and I have so many amazing people, I just haven’t felt the need to look for more or look elsewhere. I really love myself. And my standards are quite high, too,” she said, leading up to the Olympics. “If I were to date someone, we’d each have to make tons of sacrifices. It’s just not worth it at this point to build something. I think when it comes, it will. I love being single, I really do. I do see myself being single for a long time. Especially right now, I choose friendships over relationships any day.”
Recently, internet sleuths have linked Liu and 21-year-old musician Ash Blue Gutierrez, who goes by the stagename “glaive,” in dating rumors, but neither party has commented on the speculation.
