In a March interview with Nerds of Color, Vanessa Ray discussed her dynamic with “Blue Bloods” co-star Will Estes and their shared journey on the CBS series. When asked about her favorite moment, Ray shared an anecdote about her mother visiting the set.

According to Ray, her mother noticed that she and Estes were constantly engaged in conversation, even when the cameras weren’t rolling-a contrast to their co-stars.

“We don’t stop talking,” Ray added. When I go back to the beginning of our connection, and when I think of our friendship now, I become emotional. It’s one of my oldest friendships.

It’s someone who knows me in a way that even my dearest pals haven’t: on long, 12-hour days and things. So we know each other in a very specific sense, and he’s been my scene partner for the past eight or nine years. It’s insane.”
