Both Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins star Daniel Radcliffe were guests on TODAY on Monday, March 2, and cameras were rolling backstage at the morning show when the two met. To say the excitement was off the charts is the understatement of the year.

“What the… ,” Liu said in disbelief as she saw Radcliffe approach. The two gave each other big hugs and were smiling ear-to-ear, and honestly? It was difficult to determine who was happier to see the other!

Radcliffe repeatedly pointed at Liu’s gold medal and gave her a high five. He also snapped a selfie with Liu as she held up her medal.

Liu’s genuine “Oh my Lord” says it all. But Radcliffe was also fanboying so hard, he almost took the form of a kid finally meeting their idol.

It was such a sweet moment, and people couldn’t help but fawn over the pair in the video’s comments.

“This is great! I love how genuinely happy and excited they are to meet each other,” one fan commented.

Fans can currently catch Radcliffe — who became a household name after snagging the title role in the Harry Potter film series as a child — opposite Tracy Morgan in Reggie Dinkins every Monday night at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

On February 19, Liu won the women’s figure skating gold medal after completing the second portion of the event, the free skate.

During Liu’s March 2 appearance on TODAY, co-anchor Craig Melvin asked if she’s had enough time to process her epic 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics gold medal-winning performance — especially when taking into account the “outpouring of love” she’s received from fans all over the country.

“I think so — I’ve been getting so much more love, too, it’s just… continuing,” Liu explained. “So I don’t know, it’s a lot. But I’m really grateful.”

When Hoda Kotb pointed out Liu’s “chill demeanor” throughout her skating sessions, the 20-year-old happily explained.

“I tell myself to breathe, ’cause breathing is so important throughout the program because we’re so stamina-based,” Liu said. “So I got a little technique with it, and then, I don’t know, I’m feeling the energy of the audience, so I don’t need to tell myself much more.”
