Tom Brady Sends Jack Hughes Message After USA’s Win Over Canada

Jack Hughes gave a standout performance for Team USA on Sunday, scoring the overtime winner in a 2-1 victory over Canada in the 2026 Winter Olympics final.

The goal came 1:41 into overtime at the Milano Cortina Games and gave the United States its first men’s hockey gold medal since 1980.

Hughes finished the play after Zach Werenski forced a turnover and set him up in the offensive zone, and he beat Jordan Binnington with a wrist shot.

The result also brought a reaction from former NFL legend Tom Brady after the game. Brady shared a photo with Hughes and his brother Quinn Hughes on X.

He wrote, “LEGENDS 🥇@usahockey” to recognize their performance after the win.

Connor Hellebuyck played an important role in the win with 41 saves, including key stops against Connor McDavid and Devon Toews. Matthew Boldy opened the scoring in the first period, while Cale Makar tied the game late in the second period. Canada pushed the pace during that period, but the United States held on and took the game to overtime.

Canada was without captain Sidney Crosby, who missed the game with a lower-body injury. The team was aiming for a third straight Olympic gold in tournaments with NHL players, but the comeback fell short in overtime.

The Hughes brothers had a strong impact throughout the tournament. Quinn scored an overtime goal in the quarterfinals, while Jack finished the final with the deciding goal. Their efforts gave the United States its 12th gold medal in the Milano Cortina Olympics.
