Here’s When the Next Episode of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Will Air
With a breakout first season, the oilfield drama by Taylor Sheridan is gearing up for another high-stakes chapter. When Landman premiered in November 2024, few could have predicted just how quickly it would strike oil—metaphorically speaking. The Taylor Sheridan-created drama, which explores the gritty, high-stakes world of West Texas oilfields, became Paramount+’s top original series within weeks of its debut. Anchored by a compelling performance from Billy Bob Thornton as crisis manager Tommy Norris, Landman resonated with viewers for its mix of Southern grit, corporate power plays, and the human cost of big oil. With buzz still swirling around Thornton’s Golden Globe-nominated role and the show’s tense season finale, fans are now asking: When is Landman season 2? Luckily, we’ve got answers. Here’s everything we know about the next chapter of Landman, including cast updates, plot teasers, and a confirmed release window.

Landman Season 2 Cast
Paramount+ has revealed the star-studded cast for Season 2 of Landman, with legendary actor Sam Elliott joining as a series regular. He’ll appear alongside returning lead Billy Bob Thornton, who anchors the series as oil crisis manager Tommy Norris. The cast also features an impressive lineup of talent including Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore—making Season 2 one of the most anticipated returns in Taylor Sheridan’s growing universe.
What Will Happen in Landman Season 2?
After previously starring in 1883, Elliot is now playing another major role in a different Taylor Sheridan show. Thornton was also in 1883, which makes Landman a reunion for the two stars in Sheridan’s constantly expanding TV universe. The relationship between Tommy and T.L. will inevitably add new complications to the series in season 2. T.L. has already made an explosive impression in the trailer by punching another individual and knocking him to the ground. At the same time, though, there is also a thoughtfulness to the way he says that he’s wasted 60 years of his life and encourages his son to take a good look at him. Meanwhile, Monty’s death will have a significant impact on the new season, especially where Cami is concerned. While the first shot in the trailer shows her breaking down, the rest of the trailer sees her determined to honor his memory, which includes working with Tommy this season.
Elliot’s scenes in the trailer confirm that he is a perfect fit for Landman season 2. He already proved how well-suited he was to Sheridan’s TV universe in 1883, and he is doing so again in Landman, portraying a character this time who seems to be equally wise and fearsome. As for Cami, her significant presence in the trailer indicates that she will have a larger role in season 2, which can address the criticism of her role not being prominent enough in season 1. The combination of new and familiar characters, along with higher stakes, makes Landman look like it has another hit season on its hands for Paramount+.
