They wrap a forest ranger cabin with aluminum for the fires in California

The California wildfires have been devastating.

But the US Forest Service found an ingenious way to protect a ranger station from the flames, since so far this fire season, 4 million acres (1.6 million hectares) have burned across the state.

The log cabin , from  California ‘s Sequoia National Forest , is covered with a fire – resistant material that is made of aluminum .

A team of firefighters spent two weeks trying to protect the cabin from the fire, which continues to burn.

This same foil wrap, which is special and tough enough, was used to save some of the largest and most famous redwood trees in the forest .
