Find a ‘strange’ sea creature that looks like plastic tape and nobody agrees

A diver found a ‘strange’ creature that looks like clear plastic. Experts disagree on exactly what the strange sea creature is.

According to the DailyMail , Wainman, 36, was diving off Simon’s Tows in South Africa when he saw a creature that appeared to be a clear plastic ribbon rippling in the water.

When he looked closer, he knew that it was not a plastic, but rather a creature that lacks organs. She described her as an ‘incredible and magical’ creature. Something she had never seen before, not even in a photo.

What is the strange creature?

Regarding the identity of this creature, experts have given different explanations.

On the one hand, some experts believe that it is an eel larva , which is in its final larval stage. So very soon it will turn into an eel.

However, another expert says it is rather a very rare jellyfish .

“Some eel larvae are very similar to jellyfish. But, if you look closely, they have a head and a mouth at the tip, whereas this animal’s mouth is in the middle of the body,” said Kevin Kocot, an associate professor at the University of Alabama.

According to him, the creature found by the diver is more of a belt of venus, a rather rare comb jellyfish or ctenophore.

The creature known as the belt of venus survives on a diet of plankton, small crustaceans and fish fry.

These creatures are not dangerous. You can touch them. But they are not fit for human consumption.

Thanks to this type of encounters and curious news , we can meet strange marine animals that we would certainly never know otherwise.
